The creators of this website tried to include all the pages that would be helpful to all the members in Division E.  Now that the initial content is included for all the pages, the plan is for all the Area Governors to keep this site maintained and updated.  That does not mean the Area Governors must make those changes but it is their responsibility to make sure that someone makes the appropriate updates for the area under his/her leadsership.  Responsible leaders know how to delegate.  Of course the site creators will remain available.  Their emails are:

Site maintenance includes but is not limited to:

  • Clubs Page:  Add and delete clubs and update any and all changes for each club such as the contact information
  • Events Page:  Add dates and flyers for events with most recent added to the top.  This process provides a history of past events for future reference.
  • Calendar page:  Add events to the calendar or appoint someone to do that
  • Make any other appropriate changes, additions, deletions including adding new photos

HOW TO SECTION

Basic changes to a page

  • Log in to the website using the name tmd33dive and assigned password
  • Select pages from the column on the left
  • Select the page to edit by clicking on edit under the page name
  • Make the appropriate changes
  • Select “Update” in the blue box on the right
  • Review your changes by selecting “Preview Changes” at the top right of the page.
  • That’s it.  Mission accomplished.

When adding a new page

The required disclaimer and Toastmaster International trademark acknowledgement statement must be included at the bottom of the page:

  • Click  the “Text” tab at the top right corner of the frame
  • Scroll to the end of the frame
  • Copy and paste the following
  • Select “Update” in the blue box on the right

Another way:  Stay in the “Visual” tab at the top right corner of the frame and do a “copy” and “paste” from another page.

Posting blog on web site

  1. Log in as an administrator
  2. Go to the Dashboard and to the black row across the very top
  3. Click on “new post”
    1. Type a title at the top
    2. Type blog choosing text and an optional photo, video or link
    3. Keep it short and to the point
  4. Select “preview button” to preview before posting
  5. Select “Publish Post” in blue box to complete transaction

Add flyer to web site

  1. Make sure it is in a PDF format
  2. Know where it is saved on your computer
  3. Rename if necessary to identify it’s purpose
  • On the web site, Go to Media; Add New
  • On the “Upload New Media” page, select the “Select Files”
  • Browse to the location of the saved flyer and select it
  • Go to the Media Library page to verify it was added
  • Go to the page where you want to insert the flyer and select edit
  • Place the cursor at the location for inserting the flyer
  • Select “Add Media” at the top
  • Select the flyer and hit “insert into page “ at the bottom of the page
  • Select Update in blue box
  • Preview Changes at top of page

Add photos to web site

  1. Make sure the photo is in a JPEG format
  2. Embellish the photo or make a composite of the photos if desired by using Photoshop or another graphics program
  3. Add the photo(s) to your computer
  4. Know where it is saved on your computer
  5. Rename if necessary to identify the photo
  • On the page where you want to add the photo, Go to “Add Media” at the top
  • On the “Insert Media” page, select the “Upload Files”
  • Select “Select Files” and browse to the location of the saved photo and select it
  • Go to the Media Library page to verify it was added
  • Select the photo so it has a blue border and contains a check mark
  • On the bottom right, select the desired size.  Choices are Full, Medium, and Thumbnail
  • Go to the page where you want to insert the photo and place the cursor there
  • Again, select “Add Media” at the top
  • Select the photo and hit “insert into page “ in the blue box at the bottom of the page
  • Select Update in blue box
  • Preview Changes at top of page
